Conflagration - Huge sounding bridge with a single coil like neck

When it comes to humbuckers, most seem to fall into one of two main camps - a low output one of soft and musical types, or a high output one of bright and articulate types. The conflagration set fits neither.

Aimed towards punk style genres where amp distortion is turned to 10 and the tuning is rarely dropped much below standard, the Conflagration set is designed to scream with a huge bass response to give it a tone that can only be described as an auditory punch in the gut. Designed around the idea of sounding as big, as bold and as thick as possible, the Conflagration set will take any band that sounds a bit sparse and fill in every single crevice in the frequency spectrum.

This set is designed around a very unbalanced bridge coil wind and an alnico 4 magnet. The asymmetric wind opens the mids right up where there would normally be congested at this output level. It's not scooped, but it's got relatively much more bass and treble content than the normal equivalent. The alnico 4 magnet delivers a tone half way between an alnico 5 and 2 - it keeps the alnico 5 bass tightness, but it has a smoothness to the mids and treble like an alnico 2. It's designed to sound huge, it's designed to create a tone that shakes the audience when you hit a large power chord.

Then in contrast, we have a very oddly designed neck pickup. Wound to an eye watering 52k, then designed to be wired in parallel, it has a bright, chimey tone that balances in volume with the bridge and retains clarity under punk levels of gain where almost all neck humbuckers would break down into a mess. It's wound with alnico 5 rod magnets in one coil (the other is just a dummy coil), so that it only senses a small portion of the string, giving a very Stratty sound - but with significantly more output than a vintage Strat pickup, and it's completely noiseless.
