The Artec QTP is the perfect addition to the instrument of a guitarist that wants a little bit more variation from their tone control. A typical tone control has a fixed value of capacitor that progressively bleeds off frequencies in a certain range. The QTP has different values of capacitor, allowing it to function on different frequency bands on different settings. Whereas a normal tone control will give you a progression from one tone to another, the QTP has four completely different tone profiles.
The QTA has four different tone selections (five if you include the true bypass mode) - scooped mids, treble and mid cut, treble cut. and an even stronger treble cut. This allows you to coax a large variety of tones out of the simplest of guitars.
As the QTP is passive, it has no requirement for a battery. It just needs to be hooked up like a normal tone control (GT connection to where the tone usually connects and GND to ground).
