AKA Sonnet RawDawg III. Blues guitar phenomenon Eric Gales was born and raised in Memphis. He learnt to play from the age four, imitating his older brothers Eugene and Manuel’s upside-down, left-handed playing style (a tradition passed down from their grandfather, Dempsey Garrett, Sr., who was known to jam with the likes of Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf).
