A high output 14k wind around two steel rail poles charged by a ceramic magnet makes these pickups perfect for hot rodding your Strat. The dual coils mean that they can be used with heaps of gain without the annoying hum associated with typical single coils.
Due to the side by side humbucker design of these pickups, they're thicker, darker and more mid focused than a normal single coil. This means they lend themselves naturally to the more heavy genres. These pickups are at home playing rock and metal.
These pickups come with 4 conductor output cable for split and parallel operations.

I was also dubious, given the price, and the fact that it was going into a £1200 guitar as a bit of a trial. Exceeded all expectations really, pretty much the sound I was after, not quite as full as a full sized humbucker thankfully, and not as middly as some ceramics. Needless to say, I won't be buying the SD Hot Rails now, this is staying. Can't recommend highly enough.

I was dubious at first, because of the low price, but this is a fantastic pickup for the price. I've put it in a Stagg Strat copy and, along with a thorough clean and new wiring, this pickup has transformed a £30 charity shop find into a really good mid range guitar.
Will definitely use the 'Old Timer' brand again.
