The W90 is a simple design based on the vintage style P90s of the 50s. In soapbar format, these pickups bring all the snarl, bark and aggression of the original P90.
P90s are a big, fat, squat coil of winds. This coil is powered by a duo of alnico 5 bar magnets. Many guitarists consider the P90 to be a mid way point between a Fender single coil and a humbucker. We're inclined to agree, it has some of the roundness of tone from the humbucker, with clarity and note separation of a single coil. It has it's own special thing going on as well. A guitar loaded with a pair of P90s is a necessity for any guitarist who wants a versatile range of instruments.
