The solderless connector setup includes a circuit board loaded with all the favourite USA grade electronics (Switchcraft jack, Switchcraft switch, CTS potentiometers, Orange drop capacitor). This circuit board simply drops into your Gibson style control layout, then you plug in the connectors we've added to the end of the pickup leads into the circuit board. The humbucker setup comes with default 500k potentiometers, 3 way toggle switch and 0.022uf capacitors.

These are available in both import (long shaft pots, short frame switch), USA (long shaft pots, long frame switch), or right angle (short shaft pots, right angle toggle switch) formats. (ONLY) Gibson Les Pauls will use USA. Epiphones and other import models will use the import format. SGs and similar will use the right angle format. Import models Les Pauls typically use short shaft potentiometers, but we've found through experimentation that due to the nature of the way that the pots are seated at different heights in the cavity, short shaft pots will not work effectively. Long shaft pots are used by shimming the shaft to the correct length with the second nut inside the cavity.

No soldering is required at all, making the installation job take about 10 minutes in total!

The Mini Range series of P90s are P90s utilising FeCrCo screw magnets, similar to Wide Range humbuckers from Telecaster customs. This gives the pickups a brighter, more aggressive note attack, giving the pickups a tonality similar to a Fender style single coil. Below is the standard pickup set description. Due to using these screws, any mention of magnets in the description below does not apply, but is there for reference to the standard set.

The Gale Force P90 set is built to be ferociously hot for blistering high gain work. Wound with thin 45 AWG wire up to an searing 19k in the neck and 23k in the bridge, this set is for those who want as dramatic departure as possible from the vintage P90s.

The high resistance readings don't mean the pickups are quite as high output as you're probably expecting - resistance does not equate to output. The resistance is high due to the fine gauge of coil wire used in these pickups.

These winds are placed over a set of dual alnico 5 magnets in the neck position, and dual ceramic magnets in the bridge. The alnico 5 magnets give the neck position a liquid, smooth, and singing sustain for scorching solos. The ceramic magnets in the bridge position keeps the pickup bright and percussive for aggressive, saturated clarity. When compared to normal high output humbuckers (which are similar output-wise), these P90s will be a brighter, tighter and with a more focused attack.
