Clarification for the drop down menu - If you choose a brass cover, the plating will always be chrome, regardless of your choice in plating. We only have brass covers in chrome. If you choose a different colour with brass, we will supply the pole screws in the colour chosen.
A kit to build your own humbucker sized P90s utilising our custom in house designed and built real P90 tone bobbins. This is not an easy kit to assemble and should only be attempted by those with experience in pickup building.
Many humbucker sized P90 are made with either humbucker bobbins or P90 bobbins chopped down to fit under a humbucker cover. Both of these happen to have exactly the same winding area, so the myth that a P90 bobbin chopped down provides a more accurate P90 tone is false.
A P90 is much wider than a humbucker to accommodate all the winds - meaning that you just can't just chop down the bobbin to humbucker size. We need to create more room on the bobbin to get these additional winds, but you can't extend it outwards or it won't fit in a humbucker space. We extend it downwards instead!
Coming in at 14mm tall (with 10mm of winding depth, as opposed to a humbucker/P90's usual 6mm) These bobbins add the additional winding area required for proper P90 winds.
These bobbins must be wax potted at temperatures below 60C or warping can occur. They can be wax potted at slightly higher temperatures if poles are held in place by extending through cover holes. This kit includes:
- Real P90 tone bobbin
- Metal spacer
- Brass baseplate
- 40cm of braided single conductor wire
- 6 fillister pole piece screws
- 2 alnico bar magnets
- 2 mounting screws
- 2 mounting springs

You must have a filament for the coil that can withstand heat, such as PETG
My spool was destroyed when I Potting wax
They are suitable for wax potting up to 60C. If you've managed to 'destroy it' beyond a slight bobbin warping, you are using excessively high wax potting temperatures.
